Crafted with old-world methods from the 1880s – 1920s, that were established for artisanal "Jugend-Stil" crafting e.g. in Germany and Belgium.

We create in the clay a raised topography between color changes of future glazing. We use these "levees" before the second firing to separate two glazing color in their liquid form. Because of this raised topography, we can apply thick individual areas of translucent one colors.
With the second firing, an amazing depth occurs, especially when using translucent light color. For the glazing-firing in the kiln, our technique involves positioning the tiles in a way that, when melting to a glass-like consistency, each glazing color slightly "flows" within the borders of these "levees". After cooling down, lower (and brighter) and deeper (and darker) areas of color appear.

To facilitate design discussions, we provide various sizes, shapes and available glazing colours. Below, our standard sizes, that can be custom-adapted, including also tiles that facilitate brackets, e.g., for light custom fixtures matching the design, or tiles with rounded outer shapes.
Matching top and bottom piece can be arranged with one or more middle piece – resulting in taller or shorter vertical assemblies. These can also be mounted within uni-colour tile areas and therefore represent larger accents in a uni-coloured wall.

To avoid "overwhelming with design", we often use only a few tiles with a humble pattern combination within matching uni-tiles in a matching color scheme.

For a cohesive design, matching hand crafted hardware is offered, e.g. with mounting plates that match the dimensions of the tiles. This includes hooks, holder, handles, shelving hardware, wall vases and light fixtures.

For kitchen projects, we can include our special conditions for Miele appliances as we are an official Miele dealer. This includes cleaning appliances for your bathroom or laundry room project.
If desired we can work with aquarelle paintings or photoshop illustrations to demonstrate potential assemblies and color of your tile selection.
Framed panels using a wood or hand forged steel with frame materials of your choice are offered. These are pre-assembled for wall mounting in one piece.
